Tungsten slotted disc can be installed with very little work. If comes in two weights:2.6OZand 3.2OZ.Simply drill a 1”-diameter hole in the bottom of your car to the correct depth and drop the weight into the hole. It’s that easy! After you get your car painted and you’re in the final assembly stages, add a dab of glue into the hole to secure the disc. That way you can easily remove the disc and reuse it next year! If the car is still under the weight, you can add two tungsten cubes into the center of the slot between the axle points. That will give you an additional,34OZ of weight.
Selecting your drill bit You have two options to drill the 1"-diameter hole: a forstner bit (left) or a spade bit (right) .The forstner bit is the better choice for thinner cars. |
Setting the depth for the 3.2OZ disc Measure 1/2” from the flat part of the spade bit and wrap a piece of painter’s tape around the bit to set the depth. Some spade bits have long points that can easily to go though the top of your car body. If you have this problem, you can fill this hole with wood filler. |
Setting the depth for the 2.6OZ disc Measure7/16” from the flat part of the forstner bit and wrap a piece of painter’s tape around the bit to set the depth if necessary. The forstner bit shown was exactly7/16” deep. |
Clean out the hole. Remove any wood chips that remain in the hole.
